I really like Star Wars (my favourite character being Anakin Skywalker, despite the crimes to his character) and the colours of the Galactic Empire are black and crimson. After making a custom colour theme, I needed to find a matching background. As much as I am not a fan of Hayden Christensen, this was one of the few that matched the scheme. It is, at least, a tolerable picture of him, though his expression reads as 'HEY! YOU STOLE MY LAST CHEETOH, YOU ASS!' more than the destiny and epic battle atmosphere that this scene apparently attempted. The font I am using is Aurebesh, the written language of Star Wars.

I know lots of you on my list play browser games and Civilization and the like, and this is one of my favourites. I encourage everyone to sign up--give it a try! I'd also suggest joining an alliance, because otherwise you're completely open for attacks. (PSST, join Sparta!)

I just realised I've not seen Star Wars (any of them) in about two years. Two years! Man, I think that is what is wrong with me. Star Wars withdrawl. It's quite simple. You think you don't need it. I certainly told myself that I didn't. But slowly life crumbles, and do you know why? Not enough Star Wars. Or zombies, of course, but I've had a healthy dose of zombies recently. (In a year when I hit a major slump I shall have to remind myself to try some zombies.)

So, yes. Star Wars. It only just occurred to me that I do not even have a copy of the films. (Well, I do, on VHS. Though when one doesn't own a VCR this can be problematic.) In the interim of righting this travesty, I will listen to The Imperial March.

Where is my lightsabre? I was sure that I had one. I do have a copy of Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight; that's kind of like watching Star Wars, though sadly lacking in Anakin Skywalker. Come to think of it, I also have a copy of Attack of the Clones on a CD somewhere, but that is also sadly lacking in Anakin Skywalker (har har har).

Oh man, I need to write epic fanfiction. I need to write interesting things about the intricacies of this very exploited and seldom rationally developed universe. I have to write a realistic tale about Anakin's transition from the prequels to the original trilogy, including his medical recovery. I simply must write about the oh so very interesting relationships and origins of characters, Han and Chewbacca, the fan favourite interactions pre-trilogy of Princess Leia and Emperor Palpatine, Dath Vader et al. Oh man, I need to write everything ever.

Hmm. I just wrote an entire post about Star Wars. Well, at least it wasn't about birds.

Meet Belle! She's adorable. A nice lovely lady was getting rid of her, and so I snatched her right up. Wasn't sure she'd get on with Toby, of course.

But BAM! The second she heard him call she went ballistic, hopping like mad in the carrier, and so I let her out (both birds are very peaceable) and I've not been able to separate them since. Both birds used to be prone to screaming and sitting solitary in the corner, now they are sharing a perch in the sun.

Also bought them a really big cage--it is wooden so I don't have the usual problem of not being able to lift it.

A different angle. They all get along (despite minor disagreements over who gets to sit on the food dish when) and they are hard to separate. It's great to watch them all forage together, calling out to inform the others where the eats are to be had.

Wet Toby! He's rather cage-bound, so I can really only get him to bathe right before I clean the cages, and he has to see Spot do it first. It's so lovely to see him learn things from Spot.
